Reflection

One exciting thing when doing the typography for something I have read multiple times is discovering key words and key meaning. In this sonnet, I saw the first word being “THOU” as very important. So I knew I wanted to emphasize it.

Since I gave myself the one axis rule, I wanted to use the axis to emphasize the opening THOU and then play with the rest afterwards. As I went through and got more into the THOU and then decided to just be the most dramatic and make the THOU the focus on one axis.

What I real loved where I ended up in the third piece is that it really showcases a marriage between form and meaning. The THOU looks and acts as the sun super high in the sky and the text on the bottom forever being distance from it.
